2023 Food and Agriculture Industry Mission to Indonesia

On May 25 - June 7, the Council organized the 2023 Food & Agriculture Industry Mission to Indonesia, bringing a delegation of six prominent U.S. food and agriculture companies for a series of meetings with key Indonesian agricultural officials in Jakarta. During the mission, U.S. companies emphasized the significance of food security, food safety, new technology and innovative sustainable agriculture, harnessing science-based regulatory approaches, increasing bilateral trade, and capacity building for development as crucial areas of focus for U.S. agricultural business in Indonesia.

2022 Indonesia Business Mission

2022 Indonesia Business Mission delegation had the privilege to meet @President Joko Widodo. The president was accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Minister of Investment Bahlil Lahadalia, and State Secretary Minister Pratikno. The President expressed that one of Indonesia's commitments is to create a better investment climate. The Council reiterated its commitment to support for G20 Summit and upcoming ASEAN chairmanship in 2023, as well as to deepen the U.S.-Indonesia economic relationship, especially in the areas of green energy, healthcare, and technology sectors. US-ABC delegation also discussed the partnership health sector, energy transition, and the digital economy with the President.

Handover Ceremony to Indonesia State Intelligence Agency

Today on May 18th – Taufik attended a Handover Ceremony of Medical Equipment Donation from the City of New York to State Intelligence Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BIN) in Bogor, West Java. As you might know, we (US-ABC Institute) have been doing this effort since last year – along with Yayasan BUMN (the foundation associated with the Indonesia Ministry of State-owned Enterprises, Freeport, AICC and the Global Task Force on Pandemic Response (GTF) to ship NYC-donated PPE which is supported by in-kind contributions from express freight carriers FedEx and UPS.

Welcome Luncheon in Honor of Amb. Rosan Roeslani, the Ambassador of Indonesia to the United States

The Council celebrated the beginning of Amb. Rosan Roeslani’s tenure as Indonesian Ambassador to the US. He was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo on Oct 25 and presented his credentials to President Biden on Nov 30. Representatives from the USTR, DoC, ASEAN Embassies, US think thank and the private sector were present. The event was sponsored by bp, Lockheed Martin, Freeport McMoran, Kimberly Clark, Citi, Oracle and Google.

Washington, Aug 5, US-ASEAN Business Council and U.S Chamber of Commerce met with Indonesian Foreign Minister to discuss Global Task Force on Pandemic Response for Indonesia

CEO of Deloitte Global, Punit Renjen, Chairman and CEO of Freeport McMoRan, Richard Adkerson, President and COO of FedEx, Raj Subramaniam, had virtually shared their commitment to help the health crisis in Indonesia. In addition, Chairman and CEO of Bank of America, Brian Moynihan, President of Boeing International, Sir Michael Arthur, CEO of Citigroup Asia Pacific, Peter Babej, as well as CEO of Gates Foundation, Mark Suzman, also pledged their commitment to provide Indonesia with the resources they need to fight the health crisis induced by the Delta Variant.

A Briefing with Indonesia’s Trade Minister, Deputy Minister of Investment Promotion, and CEO of Indonesia Investment Authority

The Indonesia-U.S. Trade and Investment Dialogue on July 13, at Indonesian Embassy in Washington, D.C. At this Dialogue, the Minister of Trade of Indonesia, H.E. Muhammad Lutfi, the Deputy Minister of Investment Promotion, Ikmal Lukman, and the new CEO of Indonesia Investment Authority, Ridha Wirakusumah, had a dialogue with approximately 20 U.S companies regarding trade and investment issues.

Investment Briefing on Indonesia's National Strategic Projects, February 13 2020

An Investment Briefing on Indonesia's National Strategic Projects which was focused on infrastructure, energy and digital connectivity was held on February 13, 2020, with H.E. Luhut Pandjaitan, the Coordinating Minister for Maritime and Investment Affairs of Indonesia. The Minister of Trade H.E. Agus Suparmanto, ICT Minister H.E. Johnny G Plate, and Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs H.E. Mahendra Siregar were also in attendance. The event was co-organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Washington D.C, U.S. International Development Finance Corporation, US-ASEAN Business Council (US-ABC), US Chamber of Commerce, and Business Council for International Understanding BCIU).

Roundtable with Trade Minister Agus Suparmanto

During the visit of Trade Minister Agus Suparmanto to Washington D.C, Alex Feldman and the US-ABC Indonesia team were warmly welcomed by Trade Minister Agus Suparmanto and his team at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Washington D.C. Both parties had a constructive discussion on strengthening the public-private cooperation and supporting the Ministry of Trade’s goals to balance US-Indonesia trade, double the bilateral trade value, reduce trade barriers, and increase investment climate in Indonesia.
