About
The US-ASEAN Business Council serves as Co-Chair of the US-APEC Business Coalition whenever an ASEAN country is the APEC host, as Vietnam was in 2006, Singapore in 2009, Indonesia in 2013 and the Philippines in 2015. The US-ASEAN Business Council co-chairs any meetings held with ASEAN Heads of State or Senior Officials. The Coalition, in which the Council is a founding member, brings together leading U.S. business associations active in APEC and Asian business affairs in support of U.S. business goals and priorities in the APEC process. The US-APEC Business Coalition was formed in 1993 to coordinate U.S. business input for the first APEC Leaders Meeting at Blake Island. Members of the Coalition include: Council of the Americas, National Center for APEC, US-ASEAN Business Council, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, U.S. Council for International Business and several others. The Coalition also provides logistical support for US executives attending the APEC CEO Summit, and organizes bilateral meetings for U.S. business executives with APEC leaders and ministers present at the event.
